Handbooks

I am presently the President of the Township Clerks of Illinois.  We have an extensive handbook that is sold to our Members (approximately 1500 in Illinois).  We offer both a paper and electronic version. This handbook is a great reference tool, especially for those tasks that are only done annually.  Do other Clerk Associations have handbooks and if so are they sold or just distributed?  How often are they reviewed and updates.  Is there a way to share these handbooks so that I can review your version as a resource?

The Utah Municipal Clerks Association Handbook is updated annually and is available electronically to our members free of charge.

I would love one but sadly Ontario doesn't. The province of Nova Scotia in Canada provides a free handbook for its clerks. So lucky....

North Carolina has a resource guide and a manual.  They are located on our website www.nacamc.com under Document Library.

Great to see a few responses!  Feel free to share the handbook on the thread by using the upload file feature.  Simply click on the paperclip icon on the far right.

The New Mexico Municipal Clerk's & Finance Officers post their Clerk's handbook on the Municipal League website.  We do not charge for the handbooks.  We are planning to do a review of it in the near future because the last update was 2007.  Here is a link to it:  http://nmml.org/handbook-for-municipal-clerks/

The Washington Municipal Clerks Association has a municipal clerk handbook that is free to all its members and whoever wants to use it. It went through a major overhaul in 2013 and is available here. http://www.wmcaclerks.org/page-1810081

Thanks for all of the great responses.  I will look up some of them that are available on line.  Putting ours on the internet is a goal of ours; however, we have some Township Officials in Illinois that don't use technology this extensively yet!  Thanks again,

Hi - The Maine Town & City Clerks' Association also has a Handbook/Clerks Manual.  It is free to download as a pfd or it is $30 and is in a three ring binder with a cover, printed tabs, etc.

Ours are available as a download from our assocation website for anyone that would like one.

The South Carolina Association of Counties publishes a handbook for County Clerks to Council. It is available online ... http://www.sccounties.org/Data/Sites/1/media/publications/2015update_cchandbook.pdf

Hi Kathy,

Do you have to be a member to access this Handbook? Having trouble finding it on the website.

Ontario, Canada still doesn't have one.

I'm unaware of one here in BC either.

Clerk Handbook Compilation Link: We have gathered all the clerk handbook links, submitted so far, into one easy to reference document. As new handbook links become available, they will be added to the list.

What a Resource to have! Gives a new meaning to, "Being on the same page!"

Great thanks Penny. I've added the Florida Clerk's Manual to the compilation.

I have not seen one of these here in BC. We would need one for municipalities and one for regional districts. It would be a fabulous idea to create one for our province.
